How to generate e-commerce video ads from a product description

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Can you generate e-commerce video ads from a product description?

Yes. With EchoUGC you write a few lines about your product and can add a product photo; it writes the script, casts an AI actor with native lip-sync and renders a finished 9:16 1080p ad with captions, usually in under 10 minutes, for about $9 to $12 a video. It is best for e-commerce brands, Shopify stores and agencies that want UGC-style talking, demo or unboxing ads for Meta and TikTok.

What to put in the product description

The description is the brief. One brief makes one finished video, so give each brief one clear angle. Cover these, in a few lines:

  1. What the product is, in plain words, and its name.
  2. Who it is for, as specifically as you can.
  3. The problem it solves or the moment people reach for it.
  4. One result or feature to lead with. Not five.
  5. Facts you can stand behind: specs, materials, ingredients, guarantee, price or offer.
  6. The hook or angle you want to test, if you have one.
  7. Tone: casual, skeptical, excited, matter-of-fact.

Leave out claims you cannot prove, and never ask for a line where the actor says they used the product for a set number of days or got personal results: an AI actor must not be presented as a real customer.

Copyable brief templates

Talking (the actor talks to camera)

[Product] is a [what it is] for [who]. Hook: [the first line or question]. Lead with [one benefit] and mention [one fact or offer]. Tone: [tone].

Demo (the actor shows the product in use)

[Product] is a [what it is]. Show [the one thing to show off, for example how it opens, pours or attaches]. Point out [one feature]. Tone: [tone]. Add a product photo.

Unboxing (the actor opens the box on camera)

What is in the box: [product and what comes with it]. First impression to react to: [look, size, texture or detail]. Tone: [tone]. Add a product photo.

Filled example (a made-up product): "The Acme Commuter Mug is a leakproof travel mug for people who drink their coffee on the train. Hook: I stopped wearing my coffee to work. Lead with the locking lid and mention it fits car cup holders. Tone: dry and a little skeptical."

Step by step in EchoUGC

  1. Set up your brand brief once: company name, what you sell, who your customer is and your brand voice. Pasting your website during onboarding fills this in for you.
  2. Write the description for this ad and add a product photo if you have one. EchoUGC places the product in every scene.
  3. Choose the video type: Talking, Demo or Unboxing. Demo and Unboxing need a product photo.
  4. Choose the length and feel: Auto or a set length from 15 to 150 seconds (30 seconds by default), how much the actor moves, and for Talking videos one location or several scenes.
  5. Generate, then download the finished 9:16 1080p video with burned-in captions and upload it to your ad account yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI make a video ad from just a product description?

Yes. EchoUGC writes the script from your description, casts an AI actor with native lip-sync and renders a finished 9:16 1080p ad with captions. A product photo is optional for Talking videos.

Do I need a product photo?

Not for a Talking video. Demo and Unboxing videos need one, because the actor shows or unboxes your product. When you add a photo, EchoUGC places the product in every scene.

Can I paste my product page instead of writing a description?

Not in EchoUGC. Pasting your website during onboarding builds your brand brief, but each ad starts from a few lines you write. Creatify, Fliki, InVideo and Topview say on their sites that they can start from a product page link.

How long should the product description be?

A few lines with one clear angle is enough. The brief box takes up to 4,000 characters.

How much does a video ad from a product description cost?

On EchoUGC a video of up to 45 seconds is 100 credits: about $12 a video on Starter ($49 a month) and about $9 on Scale ($199 a month) and Agency ($499 a month). One test video costs $11.

Which platforms can I run the video on?

EchoUGC videos are 9:16 vertical with captions, export-ready for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Shopify, Google Ads, Snapchat and Pinterest.
