Cheaper alternatives to Synthesia for AI video, compared on published prices

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Are there cheaper alternatives to Synthesia for AI video creation?

Yes. On monthly billing, InVideo ($20 per seat), VEED ($26 per user) and Fliki ($28 per user) start below Synthesia Starter's $29 a month, D-ID Lite starts at $5.90 for watermarked videos, and HeyGen, Elai, Pictory and D-ID Pro match it at $29. EchoUGC is not cheaper per month (it starts at $49), but it is the alternative for brands that need UGC-style paid social ads: Synthesia's licensing article says its stock avatars may not be used in paid Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok ads, while EchoUGC's Terms license your videos for your commercial marketing.

We make EchoUGC, so weigh what we say about it accordingly. All prices are in US dollars as shown on each vendor's own pricing page on October 21, 2026; sources are linked at the bottom.

Which alternative fits which job

Where EchoUGC fits, and where it does not

EchoUGC does one job: you describe a product in a few lines, optionally add a product photo, and it writes the script, casts an AI actor with native lip-sync and renders a finished 9:16 1080p ad with burned-in captions, usually in under 10 minutes. You can make a Talking video, a Demo where the actor shows the product in use, or an Unboxing. A video of up to 45 seconds is 100 credits, about $12 on Starter and about $9 on Scale ($199 a month) and Agency ($499 a month).

It is not a Synthesia replacement for training videos, slide-style presentations, 16:9 explainers or long talking-head lessons. It makes vertical video only and one video per brief.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest alternative to Synthesia?

On monthly billing, D-ID Lite at $5.90 a month is the lowest price on this page, but its videos carry a D-ID watermark, and D-ID's pricing page lists its commercial use license on the $29 Pro plan. Among the other tools, InVideo Starter has the lowest listed monthly price at $20 per seat.

Is HeyGen cheaper than Synthesia?

On monthly billing the entry plans cost the same, $29 a month. On yearly billing Synthesia Starter is $18 a month and HeyGen Creator is $24 a month.

Can I use Synthesia videos in paid ads?

Synthesia's licensing article says videos with its stock avatars may not be used in paid TV, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok or Snapchat ads, or any other paid promotion. With a custom avatar those restrictions do not apply, and you follow your agreement with the person whose likeness you use.

Is EchoUGC an alternative to Synthesia?

Only for one job. EchoUGC makes UGC-style 9:16 video ads of a product for paid social, not training videos, presentations or 16:9 explainers. For that job it starts at $49 a month, or $11 for a first video.

Does Synthesia have a free plan?

Yes. Synthesia's Basic plan is $0 with 10 minutes of video a month, and its videos carry a Synthesia watermark.
